Kinyan Yedios Continues!

This week, we continued learning the halachos of brachos. We reviewed foods that contain flour but are still shehakol (the boys enjoyed some licorice!), and we reviewed why most fruit drinks are shehakol (the boys enjoyed apple juice box drinks). We also discussed how processed fruits and vegetables, when no longer recognizable, can be shehakol. This led to a discussion about french fries, potato chips, and Pringles. The boys enjoyed Pringles and freshly made french fries with ketchup, prepared by some of the boys! In addition, we learned how much one must eat of foods like french fries and Pringles to require a bracha acharona, and within a set amount of time. We also discussed how much one must drink to require a bracha acharona and the time frame for that as well. It was a wonderful and enjoyable session, combining learning with a hands-on experience, and we look forward to more!
