Agudath Israel of America and Agudath Israel of Illinois extend ברכת תנחומין to the family of Mr. Lothar Kahn z’l upon his petirah last week at the age of 101. Mr. Kahn left Germany in 1938, going first to England and then to New York, where he boarded with legendary Agudah activist Mr. Mike Tress. He arrived in Chicago in 1940 and was soon drafted into the Army. He remained in the Army after the conclusion of WWII, serving as a German interpreter. Back in Chicago, Mr. Kahn used his success in business and his strong sense of achrayus to help the Chicago Jewish community grow, leading and supporting the educational mosdos and the then fledgling Agudath Israel of Chicago. Over the years he and his wife dedicated themselves and their resources to give strong support to Agudath Israel, both nationally and locally. May his dedication to צרכי צבור be a source of ברכה and a זכות for his esteemed family.
